About Dr. Sahen Gupta

Dr Sahen Gupta is an applied psychologist trained under the BPS-HCPC route and Senior Lecturer in Applied Sport Psychology at University of Portsmouth. He divides his time between mental health support and high-performance striving to help individuals achieve a balance. He works with individuals in sport and other high-pressure professions for sustainable high performance. Dr Sahen's research interests are focused on the themes of resilience for mental health and performance, cultural sport psychology and applied field interventions in sport psychology. As a scientist-practitioner he draws upon his experience in the field to inform research for context-based evidence. Dr Sahen reads far too much, laughs as much as he can and learns too many things. He is the Founder of Discovery Sport & Performance Lab, a collective of global practice and cutting edge multicultural research. His leading scientific research and applied work have been published in international peer-reviewed journals, books and has been showcased in BBC and The Times. In his spare time, Dr Sahen writes a column for Telegraph India,called "Mind Games".
