Drill Progressions

# of Attempts

  • Track how many attempts it takes you to complete the drill


5 Lives

  • You have five lives

  • You lose one life for each unsuccessful putt

    • An unsuccessful putt is defined as one that doesn't finish between the appropriate ball marks

  • Move backward by 6" / 15cm after a successful attempt

  • If you lose all five lives you fail


5 Lives + Step Forward

  • You have five lives

  • You lose one life for each unsuccessful putt

    • An unsuccessful putt is defined as one that doesn't finish between the appropriate ball marks

  • For each unsuccessful putt, you must move forward by 6" / 15cm

  • You can only move backward by 6" / 15cm after a successful attempt

  • If you lose all five lives you fail


5 Lives + Restart

  • You have five lives

  • You lose one life for each unsuccessful putt

    • An unsuccessful putt is defined as one that doesn't finish between the appropriate ball marks

  • For each unsuccessful putt, you must restart from point "1"

  • You can only move backward by 6" / 15cm after a successful attempt

  • If you lose all five lives you fail



Equipment

  • 1x Putter

  • 1x Tape Measure

  • 4x Golf Balls

  • 8x Ball Marks


Set-Up

  • Place 4 ball marks each 1' / 2.54cm apart in a line (Noted as A, B, C, D on the chart)

  • These 4 ball marks (A, B, C, D) are the gates you will be putting towards

  • Using point "A" as a starting point (see chart), place ball marks at:

    • 5'/ 1.52m from point "A" (Noted as "1" on the chart)

    • 10' / 3.04m from point "A" (Noted as "2" on the chart)

    • 20' / 6.09m from point "A" (Noted as "3" on the chart)

    • 30' / 9.14m from point "A" (Noted as "4" on the chart)

  • The four ball marks (1, 2, 3, 4) are points from which you will putt

  • Start the drill from point 1 (See the "starting point" on the chart for reference)


Goal

  • From between points 1-2 the goal is to putt the ball between points A & B (1' / 30cm space)

  • From between points 2-3 the goal is to putt the ball between points A & C (2' / 60cm space)

  • From between points 3-4 the goal is to putt the ball between points A & D (3' / 91cm space)


Defining Successful Attempts

  • A successful putt is one that finishes within the appropriate distance gates given the distance you are putting from

  • After each successful putt move backward by 6" / 15cm


Drill Completion

  • The drill is complete once you have successfully progressed from point "1" to point "4" in increments of 6" / 15cm
